Paparangi Scouts

10–14 year olds, girls and boys (School years 6 to 10)

Scouts meet Wednesday at 7.00pm to 9.00pm  at the Scout Hall

The Troop meets on a Wednesday night at the Scout hall where we run activities – which include planning for weekend adventures and activities that lead toward achieving badges through the scouting award scheme.

scouts-otaki-forksThe Paparangi Scout troop has a very active annual schedule with lots of outdoor activity s including trips to the many serviced huts in the mountains and camping grounds found in our local bush.

Some of the events and activities we run are visiting the local climbing walls, be part of team on a survival course, skiing weekends at the Mount Ruapehu Scout lodge, geocaching around Wellington, swimming at the local pools, pine wood derby night where you build your own cars and race them, mudslide days, radio and internet activities where we contact Scouts from all over the world, campfires, rafting down rivers and many other different adventures.

When you join Scouts you’ll become a member of a group called a ‘Patrol’. As a Scout you can have lots of fun, explore new things and make new friends, as well as experiment, accept challenges, and experience an adventurous Scouting life.

Here is the Scout Law that Scouts learn to understand while in Scouting.

Not sure if you or your kid(s) will like it? Come along for the first 3 times FREE and see. To find out more or to get in touch with us please Click Here
